ST. KITTS TOURISM AUTHORITY'S VISIONARY SKY PROGRAM WINS GOLD AT THE 2025 TRAVEL WEEKLY MAGELLAN AWARDS
What began as a bold vision by St. Kitts Tourism Authority’s CEO, Kelly Fontenelle, to strengthen relationships with global travel advisors has now become an international success story. The St. Kitts Your Way (SKY) Program, conceptualized under her leadership, has earned Gold Winner status in the 2025 Travel Weekly Magellan Awards under the category Hospitality – Overall Travel Advisor Support.
When Ms. Fontenelle assumed the role of CEO, she recognized that empowering travel advisors, the storytellers who shape the traveler’s first impression was essential to elevating St. Kitts’ presence on the world stage. The SKY Program was born from that insight: an innovative platform to educate, engage, and reward travel advisors, ensuring that St. Kitts’ unique charm and experiences are represented with authenticity and confidence in the global marketplace.
Launched in 2024 across key source markets, the SKY Program delivers dynamic, interactive learning experiences through destination training, immersive webinars, on-island familiarization trips, and exclusive rewards for logged bookings. The program not only enhances the advisors’ knowledge of St. Kitts but also fosters a community of passionate brand ambassadors who advocate for the destination year-round.
CEO Kelly Fontenelle added, “The SKY Program was designed to inspire and equip our travel partners to share St. Kitts’ story with confidence. Receiving this award so soon after its launch reinforces the strength of that vision and our dedication to building meaningful connections within the travel community.
The Travel Weekly Magellan Awards celebrate the best in the travel industry, honoring outstanding achievements in design, marketing, and service across all sectors of hospitality, cruise, airline, and destination management. The SKY Program’s Gold Award win places St. Kitts alongside some of the most distinguished names in global travel innovation.
Since its inception, the SKY Program has engaged hundreds of travel advisors across North America, Canada, and the UK, helping them not only to better understand St. Kitts but also to sell it with passion and purpose. Its success reinforces the Authority’s strategy of building strong trade relationships as the cornerstone of sustainable tourism growth.
